I’m baaaack….Long- time- no- blog. I’ve been working on building a web site for my son Roger, who is an artist. I took an HTML 101 course about a year ago offered by-about.com -and now I’m putting it to good use. There is so much to learn on the web and so much of it is free. The plus behind it is the fact that a person gets to distantly be involved with other people who don’t know a hill of beans any better than you do about HTML or building web sites. Of course a person also gets so much helpful advice from people who are pros at it and have a passion for it. They have a great message board where you can post questions on problems and show off your work. It was really fun to look at all the other people’s sites who were taking the course. It’s amazing the way a persons web site takes on the webmasters personality and reveals so much about their interests and about it’s creator. Incidentally , HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language, and a webmaster is the person who puts a web site together.
Now there are other ways of going about the task of building a web site.
Most Web Hosts have pre-made templates that one can use.
Then there are great Tutorials on HTML, and a person can even pick up a few nice pieces of free code or scripts that you just copy and paste into your pages.
Then there are programs called Editors that do most of the work of putting in the right HTML code.
I myself am kind of proud of the fact that I can now write HTML in Notepad ,which is a raw kind of way of doing it.
So if you’re out blog hopping today and just happen to stop in here, check out Roger`s art. And hey, While your at it, check out Sissy`s site too. By the way, please sign our guest books and let me know what you think…. Now if I can just find a site that gives free spelling and grammar lessons….
